Frequently Asked Questions

  • WHAT

Boxmaster and Fightmaster are revolutionary new products that have changed how gym members and home fitness users perceive boxing. Boxmaster is a commercial grade piece of equipment that replaces the need for a person to hold focus pads. With the ability to cater to all types of members it will excite and encourage greater participation in boxing style training. Fightmaster brings the same great gym-based workout into the home with the durability of Boxmaster, an easy to move wheeled based and an all-inclusive workout app.

  • WHY

Before Boxmaster there were only two methods available to teach and train boxing: the heavy bag, and the favoured method of focus mitts. Some of the negative issues associated with these old methods are

    1. The heavy bag has no specific target areas, and the internal filling has a tendency to gather at the bottom of the bag creating a rock-hard surface causing injuries if punched. The punch bag can also be boring and awkward for the inexperienced user.
    2. The use of the focus pads has the potential to injure both the trainer and gym member. Gym members often miss the pad due to inexperience. This commonly causes tennis elbow, or injuries to the trainer’s wrists, elbows and shoulders. Even the most experienced boxing trainers in the world are exposed to these same injuries every day.
  • HOW

The Boxmaster and Fightmaster pads have been arranged to replicate the different angles associated with each type of punch. This allows the participant to throw any punch or any combination of punches at any time, creating a realistic flow to the workout unlike other boxing products on the market. A large amount of time and research has gone into the development of these products. The key to their design lies in the spring and rod systems and angle of each pad. The springs and rods have been set up to replicate punching a focus mitt by offering a slight give in the pads on impact. The result of this is a significant reduction in the risk of injury to both users and trainers.

  • WHO

The beauty of these products is they cater to every type of user, unlike methods used in the past for boxing training such as the heavy bag. Both Boxmaster and Fightmaster provide a non-intimidating way to encourage members to try a different style of training. The pads are specifically arranged to cater to both right-handed (orthodox), and left-handed (southpaw) dominant participants. Boxmaster and Fightmaster can easily be adjusted to cater for all heights, from 5”0 to 6”10.

  • SETUP & SPACE

Please see product information for single unit specs. For multiple units in commercial settings, we recommend the optimal amount of space needed to accommodate four =units in a line is 4 meters x 5 meters. Alternatively, for a 4 pod format of Boxmaster (north, south, east, west and back to back) 4 meters x 4 meters.

  • DURABILITY

Boxmaster and Fightmaster units have been used by some of the best fighters in the industry including Connor McGregor, Chris Eubank Junior and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Throughout the design process, both machines have been tested thousands of times with minimal wear and tear to the pads evident. With proper maintenance, these machines hold up to the heaviest of hitters. Important to note that machines located in commercial spaces will require more maintenance than those used in the home. Boxmaster and Fightmaster Product Warranty’s cover your machine from the time of purchase until the 2-year expiry. If you require spare parts or maintenance of your machine outside of this warranty period, you can organise this by contacting us at info@boxmaster.com.au
